#7 – The underground guard fight (Enter the Dragon, 1973)

Why Lee-mendous: Lee used his Hong Kong movies tactic of making the audience wait for his martial arts mastery in Enter the Dragon.

75 minutes in Lee’s agent faces down the evil Han’s guards when they discover he is a spy.

Beginning in slow motion, presumably so audiences at the time could become used to the speed of the action, Lee showcases his philosophy of free-flowing fighting styles.

Starting with fists and feet and his patented squawks and grimaces, Lee graduates to staff, fighting sticks and finally nunchucks in a scene paid homage in Oldboy’s celebrated hammer fight set-piece.

Interesting-Lee: That’s Jackie Chan above as one of Han’s guards.
